Your right to fair treatment
Everyone wants to have a stress-free and fair working relationship on the job. However, in a non-union job workers often have no recourse when they feel like they're not being treated well.
All our contracts at Teamsters Local 638 contain a procedure to protect you from being treated unfairly or fired without good reason or cause. They also protect our members from discrimination or favoritism in the way work assignments, promotions, layoffs, or other issues are handled. When our members feel their managers aren't treating them properly, they have the right to file what's called a "grievance" and work together with their Teamsters Business Agent and an elected leader in the workplace known as a "shop steward". The steward and other local union leaders can answer their questions and help them figure out the best way to solve the problem. Sometimes that involves discussions with management or it may require generating the support of other workers for a fair solution. If you feel like you deserve the right to do the same, contact our organizer: Nick Ruberto 763-370-5098 ruberton@teamsterslocal638.org |
